DO SOMETHING

DO SOMETHING

I am undone in every direction. Sad and lonely, scared and lost, in this one hard day spent in pain for Floyd George,  and in all the overarching ways this continues to play. I am demolished with anger at my world, still moving steady as a glacier in the wrong direction. Pissed at my people cause whether I want to claim it our not, I am white amongst all these wrongs done in the coat of privilege and supremacy. I want to pull that word apart by the guts and entrails to never allow it to be stood upon again. There is no such thing as one group supreme. And the belief only indicates the opposite to be true. If any can be so reductionist to accept this inconsequential detail to be a determining factor, their own true colors of ignorance show through. I want to stand with others wise to all that is so clear to see, those that hold love and equality and open hearts higher than any ill conceived constructs to tear us apart. Racism has been real for far too long. Invented along with gun powder to empower the meanest amongst us to stand apart from their heart toward the uglier evil that is greed. The only way to heal is to forfeit the seat. To topple this construct and return the riches wrestled from the honest origins. It is time to REPENT. RETURN. REPARE. REPARATIONS have never been as necessary as now. The people are loud. And from this volume chanting for change, there ought to be a price paid.

To simply try to be an ally will never be enough. But it is the one thing we can do. To try to redraw lines not determined by our color but by the contents of our hearts. Those of us with grace must outnumber those others with hate, yet our best intent falls flat when their guns come out. I made 10 donations today  to causes that fight police violence and organizations that support communities of color. Could we create an overarching effort to research illegally gotten gains accumulated in racisms name?  Shall we appeal to those benefiting for generations off the labor of slaves or prisoners more currently and those raised up on the system of racism that offered such unfair advantages? And though that seems so dramatic and singular, I add, each of us, whether we see it or not, plays a part in this unfair system. So each of us can contribute to its healing. Can we put out a plea for voluntary reparations to enrich all the organizations that support people of color. PLEASE! Van Jone Love Army might be the source to start such an effort.

The officer was since arrested and charged. Derrick Chauvin will face manslaughter and 3rd degree murder charges. Please let the whole understory come out. The systems of ongoing racist policies must come under fire with this court case.
